The Red Shoes (1993)

3/5

although being one of my least favorite Kate Bush albums it's still a very nice listen . It's interesting to see Kate trying new things here . "Rubberband Girl" is a great opener and sounds vey different from all of her other songs .

"Moments of Pleasure" is a nice piano driven ballad and " The Song of Solomon" it's also nice and emotional . Both songs which are the most peaceful and calm ones in a very upbeat album are my favorites .

The Sensual World (1989)

3/5

Many people see this one as her most accesible and closer to pop album , So I was expecting to like it much more , I just don't connect that much with the album in general . Nothing stands out that much to me here except the tittle track , " Reaching out " and the last one "This Woman's Work" one of her most emotional songs without doubt .

In general it's a little bit better than " The Red Shoes "

50 Words for Snow (2011)

3/ 5

A nice piano driven album , the first tracks are interesting : long , slow and very atmospheric songs. the collaboration with Elton John it's not bad but don't impress me that much , I was expecting much more from that one . Although Elton is one of the most recognisable artists ever here he doesn't stands out that much . I'ts still a nice listen from beginning to end but far from being my favorite Kate Bush album .

Never for Ever (1980)

3 /5

An essential album in her discography but still far from my favorites . "Babooshka" is a vey typical and great Kate Bush song . After her first two records this is a much more experimental album . " Army Dreamers " is another great track , it's always nice to hear this type of tracks in a Waltz time on the albums . Waltz songs always sound fresh and alive on any album of any artist .

Aerial (2005)

3.5 /5

A nice return to form bu Kate Bush .

After a lapse of a lot of many years since " The Red Shoes " the sound of this album is totally different from that previous record . The Red Shoes was very dynamic , rhythmic and joyful and Aerial is a more atmospheric , mature and introspective album . Nevertheless Kate also tries different things here.

" King Of The Mountain " is a nice and very atmospheric opener , " Bertie " is a very nice and original tribute for her son in a medieval style , "How to Be Invisible" is really good , love the guitar on this one. " A Coral Room" is a nice piano driven piece.

The second half " A Sky of Honey " has some interesting moments.

Lionheart (1978)

3.5 /5

For many people this is one of the weakest albums for sounding similar in style to her debut "The Kick Inside " , and yes it's inferior to her first album . But I enjoy this one much more than a lot of her albums . So if the orchestral and 70's sounds of "The Kick Inside " was really nice and sweet why not have a little more of that style ?

"Symphony in Blue" is a nice opener and " Wow " is not only the best song of the album but one of her classics

The Dreaming (1982)

3.5 /5

Her more experimental album . The first time I listen to it I just didn't get it , but after many listens I like it much more , nevertheless I don't enjoy it as much as many of her fans , but I can appreciate the originality and creativity on the songs and understand why many see it as her best album .

"Sat in Your Lap " it's so unique one of a kind song.

"Suspended in Gaffa" it's a moving and interesting song in 3/4 signature .

"The Dreaming" it's a very rhythmic and interesting , don't know why but it reminds to " Cocteau Twins "

"Night of the Swallow" is the most accesible and my favorite song on the album , love the bagpipes and the irish music influence on this one .

Hounds of Love (1985)

3.5 / 5

Maybe the most well known album . I like a lot the sound of the album I wished I liked more the second and more experimental half of the album but I find it weaker than the first half . Nevertheless this album include possibly my two favorite Kate Bush songs "Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God)" and "Cloudbusting" both tracks are classics and essentials on her discography , those strings on " Cloudbusting " are just so nice to listen .

The opener of the second half "And Dream of Sheep" it's a very nice and gentle tune , it reminds me to the calm and peaceful "The Man with the Child in His Eyes" from the debut album .

The Kick Inside (1978)

4/ 5

Such a wonderful debut , possibly one of the best debut albums ever and it's impressive how young was Kate at the time of recording it . I like some songs much more than others but it's the album I enjoy the most from beginning to end . This one also includes a lot of my favorites from her . it's very surprising that after listening all of her albums this one is honestly still my favorite.

"Moving" - Such a beautiful song and fantastic opener that sets the mood of the whole album , it's not as well known as her classic "Wuthering Heights" but for me such it's such as good as it .

"The Saxophone Song" - another brilliant song , great sax on this one

"The Man with the Child in His Eyes" - love the peaceful mood of this haunting song which is without doubt one of her best songs . The piano is so nice on this one .

"Wuthering Heights" - One her most well known songs . such an incredible and very unique song . loved this one a lot since the first time I listened to it . A song only Kate could write . a bit strange but lovely at the same time .

"James and the Cold Gun" - The more rock oriented song and also one of my favorites from the album .
